From Jack Schneider, National Chairman Rituals and Degrees …
Several National Board and State Board Officers traveled recently to bucolic Carbondale, PA for the Testimonial Dinner of outgoing PA State President, Joe Hosie. Joe has always been an ardent supporter of the Major Degree works of the Order and we sincerely thank him for his service to the Order and for his support.
Many County Boards throughout the land are currently holding County Board elections. We congratulate all the newly elected County Board Officers who will wear the Green Ribbon and wish them much luck and success in their terms of office. AOH elections are a good time to remind our Vice Presidents at all levels throughout the Order of your responsibility to promote the Major Degrees in your jurisdictions. Please encourage all member Brothers who have not yet received their Major Degrees yet to do so and also encourage Degreed Members to participate in the Major Degrees in your area as Observers.
The summer months will afford several opportunities for prospective candidates to take their Major Degrees at various state conventions throughout the land. Major Degree Ceremonies are currently planned at the following State Conventions that I have been notified of to date:
- Sat. June 22 – Michigan State Convention, Detroit Marriott Livonia, Livonia, MI
- Sat. July 13 – New York State Convention, Hilton Albany Hotel, Albany, NY
- Sat. July 20 – Pennsylvania State Convention, Greentree Doubletree Hotel, Pittsburgh PA
- Sat. August 17 – Ohio State Convention, Radisson Hotel at Univ. of Toledo, Toledo, OH
